Privacy policy

Short version: the app collects nothing, and your script never leaves your network.

What data is collected

None. Universal Teleprompter has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking identifiers. There are no servers of ours: there is nowhere your data could be sent, because there is nowhere to send it.

Where your script lives

The script is stored on the device itself, in its private app storage.

When you connect several devices, the script and the settings travel directly between them over your local network, without going through the internet or any intermediary. If you turn on browser access, the page is served from your own device too and is only reachable inside that same network.

Permissions the app asks for

Local Network. So devices can find each other and stay in sync. That is all it does. If you deny it, the app remains fully usable on a single device.
Camera. Only to read the QR code you use to join another device's session. The image is processed on the spot, never stored and never sent anywhere.

Settings kept on the device

The app remembers a few of your preferences — the mode you were using, your session's pairing code and the text size — using the system's standard storage. They are local, never shared, and go away when you uninstall the app.

Third parties

There are none. The app bundles no analytics, advertising or social SDKs, and connects to no external service.

Children

The app is not directed at children in particular and, since it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If any of this ever changed, this page would be updated with a new date before the change reached the app.
